Lifeguard Certification Course Types:
Full Training – No previous experience as a Lifeguard
Recertification – Previously a Lifeguard with an expired certification and need to renew

  • Applicants in need of Full or Recertification Training are required to complete the American Red Cross online portion of training.

  • Our Lifeguard Certification course is reimbursable for future employees of S.A.F. Guarding employees who work 60 days.

  • We also offer certification courses for those seeking employment outside of our organization.

  • Applicants in need of Full or Recertification Training are required to complete the American Red Cross online portion of training.

  • Our Certification course is reimbursable to future employees of S.A.F. Guarding who work 60 days.

  • We also offer certification to those seeking employment outside of our organization.

  • This course is for Adult, Child, and Infant CPR, First Aid, & AED Certification.

  • This is an online only course.

Water Safety Instructor Certification Course:

Interested in teaching swim classes?
The purpose of the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor course is to educate, train, and certify individuals through the Learn-to-Swim Program.

 

Successful candidates will be eligible to apply for swim lesson instructor positions at any of our facilities, as well as most private and public aquatics facilities that offer swim instruction.

What To Expect

Water Safety Instructor Candidates must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age

  • Swim the following strokes for the designated distance:

    • Front crawl for 25 yards

    • Back crawl for 25 yards

    • Breaststroke for 25 yards

    • Elementary Backstroke for 25 yards

    • Sidestroke for 25 yards

    • Butterfly for 15 yards

    • Maintain position on back one minute in deep water (floating or sculling)

    • Tread water for one minute

Certified Pool Operator Course:

Swimming pool and spa operators are responsible for ensuring clean and safe aquatic facilities for public use. Proper training is vital to the safe functioning of a pool. Many cities and states require pool operator training for operators/managers of pools, which is why we choose to offer this training.

What To Expect

  • This basic course covers water chemistry,

  • filtration and recirculation;

  • state and local regulations;

  • water-borne diseases;

  • pool safety and water testing

This one-day course is required for individuals responsible for managing swimming pools and spas of varying sizes. After successfully completing the course, you will be issued a certificate valid for three years.​

Step 1: Register for one of the courses above, by clicking on the "Register Now" button.

Step 2: Potential Lifeguards, WSI, and CPO candidates, once submitted, check your email and verify you received an automated response email from us confirming we received your registration.

Step 3: We will contact you to inform you of available classes, dates, and times.

Potential Gate/Pool Monitors, once you have received your certification, please email it to michelle@safguarding.com, along with your resume.

Step 4: Go to the "Careers" page to continue with the hiring process, and fill out the application.


In-person training is 2 days long, 8 AM to 6 PM. Applicants must be present for all instructional times and may be disqualified if any time is missed.
